LiepU FDC “Banga” gets Liepaja Culture Award 2015

Liepaja University folk dance collective “Banga” and its leader Kristine Karkliņa got awarded with Liepaja Culture award 2015 for collectives development and great achievements in 2015. Liepaja Culture award 2015 ceremony took place on 4th March at Liepaja Latvian society house.

For the award leader of FDC “Banga” Kristine Karkliņa said the biggest thanks for the dancers, her team about jointly invested work in collectives development and also for those who noticed and appreciated the achievements.

Liepaja municipal authority “Culture department” gained 43 applications with 34 nominees for Liepaja Culture award 2015, from their were honored nine Culture award 2015 winners.

Submitted applications for Culture award evaluated Chairman of the Commission Liepaja minicipality vice-chairman of education, culture and sports Vilnis Vitkovskis, Liepaja Culture department leader Juris Jirgens, video artist and winner of Culture Award 2014 Roberts Vītols, Liepaja University Faculty of Humanities and art dean Zanda Gūtmane, Latvia Culture Academy associate professor, theater critic and www.kroders.lv main editor Līga Ulberte, foundation”Visa Cultura” leader and musicologist Dace Bluķe and Kurzeme planning region’s cultural specialist Dace Reinkopa.

We congratulate and are glad with winners FDC “Banga” and its leader Kristine Karkliņa and also with nominees LiepU woman choir “Atbalss” and conductors Ilze Valce and Olga Blauzde and LiepU Faculty of Humanities and art and Kurzeme Humanities institute scientific magazine “Scriptus Manet” team.
